Chapter three (Pg3)

Dealing with the pain of perseverance:

Hebrews 2:9 (AMP)

“[9] But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while [by taking on the limitations of humanity], crowned with glory and honor because of His suffering of death, so that by the grace of God [extended to sinners] He might experience death for [the sins of] everyone.”

And we see Jesus, who was for a little while made lower than the angels.

With loud groaning and tears (though He were a Son), He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.

You do not scorn the affliction; you embrace it. You do not run away from the pain; you accept it. That leads us to vulnerability.

The reason why we do not persevere most times is because we know our rights. We know we do not deserve those treatments or situations.

But when we know this, yet we choose to submit to the process,

not afraid of the hurt—embracing the pain—that is when strength comes.

The Bible says He (the Lord Jesus) was made perfect by the things He suffered. So when He was vulnerable, accepting the hurt and pain, He cried out and made supplications. He remained there—morning and evening—crying.

That is how He built strength and fed on God’s mercy. It is paramount to dying to oneself. That is how your sufficiency comes from God, and that is how, in your weakness, you are made strong.
