Prologue

The Lord Jesus Christ is a very interesting and mysterious Being—the first begotten Son of God. He came amongst men, fed, slept, ate, and drank with all classes of society and diverse calibers of men. He is God, yet man. He has a personality: likes, dislikes, principles, morals, character, and behavior. He had habits as a mortal and still has habits in His divine state.

When you work in an organization and you are transferred or called upon to work with the boss, the smartest thing would be to search out his work patterns and modus operandi. Jesus often spoke in parables; He barely gave direct answers. Even in present day, when the Lord appears to men, He says little or nothing. It is by the Spirit you commune with Him. If you are one spirit with Him, that is when you are acutely positioned by the Holy Ghost to understand His verbal and non-verbal communications.

Romans 8:11 — But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The Holy Spirit quickens your senses to interpret the revelations and mysteries of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 13:34–35 (NLT)
"34 Jesus always used stories and illustrations like these when speaking to the crowds. In fact, He never spoke to them without using such parables.
35 This fulfilled what God had spoken through the prophet: “I will speak to you in parables. I will explain things hidden since the creation of the world.”

Verse 10 — His disciples came and asked Him, “Why do you use parables when you talk to the people?”
Verse 11 — He replied, “You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of Heaven, but others are not. 12 To those who listen to My teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge. But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them. 13 That is why I use these parables.”

When visions come, they aren’t always plain; they are symbolic. He still communicates with parables. However, the closer you get to Him, the more frequent and less puzzling His words become.

Christian Standard Bible —
“I do not call you servants anymore, because a servant doesn’t know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything I have heard from My Father.”

He speaks plainly like a friend. He could spend 6 hours out of 24 every day teaching you, instructing you, and edifying you. He still loves to teach. There may be no Peter’s boat, or Mary Magdalene’s rug, or the shade of an olive tree, but He could still sit in your room—His glory reflected by the walls of your room, your windows closed but your curtains steadily blown, the peace unexplainable. Not to mention the glow your skin begins to radiate, all because the Lord Jesus spends time with you. Everything about you becomes a reflection of His glory and majesty: the way you speak, your results and accomplishments, your resources, and your life.

1 Corinthians 2:10–12 —
"But God has revealed it to us by the Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of man except his own spirit within him? So too, no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us."

It is by the Holy Spirit we commune with the Lord. He cleanses, purifies, and vitalizes us—comforting us, strengthening us, and perfecting us. He prunes us for the Master’s use.
