The Prophetic Ministry:
A prophet is one who foretells either what has been designed to happen, or he can create a reality with his words, because the Lord is pleased with him and establishes his word.
Jesus prophesied about the coming of the Holy Spirit and the disloyalty of Peter, even the betrayal of Judas Iscariot. These were things designed to take place. When Jesus also told the Samaritan woman all that she had done in the past, although just seeing her for the first time, that was prophetic too.
However, when Jesus said to the sick, “Go, you are healed, you shall not die,” that was a creative reality. The Prophetic ministry and the healing ministry intertwined. When Jesus told Peter to cast his net inside the sea and pull out fishes, that was miraculous and prophetic.
The grace to work signs and wonders goes with the apostolic ministry; the apostolic ministry and the prophetic work hand in hand most times.
The Kingly Ministry:
Prophecies foretold the coming of the Messiah, the King of the Jews. For that purpose He became a threat to King Herod; the Messiah was the hope of the Jews.
Numbers 24:17, 19 (AMP)
“I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel . . . a ruler will come out of Jacob . . .”
Psalm 2:7–9 (AMP)
“You are my Son, today I have become your Father. Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance; the ends of the earth your possession. You will rule them with an iron scepter, you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
Psalms 2:7–12 (MSG)
"7 Let me tell you what God said next. He said, “You're my son, and today is your birthday.
8 What do you want? Name it: nations as a present? continents as a prize?
9 You can command them all to dance for you, or throw them out with tomorrow's trash.”
10 So, rebel-kings, use your heads; upstart-judges, learn your lesson:
11 Worship God in adoring embrace,
12 Kiss Messiah! Your very lives are in danger, you know; His anger is about to explode, but if you make a run for God—you won't regret it!"
Isaiah 42:1, 4 (AMP):
“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations . . . He will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth…”
