Now this Jesus is hanging on the cross... His enemies who had hated Him without a cause, some of his brethren who turned their backs on Him, beheld Him. Jesus, the Messiah, is this the end of the road?
And Jesus Christ of Nazareth cries out, " My God! My God, why has thou forsaken me?" (Psalms 22:1)
But had they known, they would not have crucified Him, they thought they'd destroyed and crushed Him, but they just helped Him manifest his purpose, to pay the price for the sins of the whole world!
The Sacrificial Lamb of God, the Holy elect one, He commits His Spirit to God.
And so He's in hell, Oh how heavily they pounced on Him! They'd destroyed his body, now they were going to torment his soul... All the devils he had terrorized began to overwhelm Him, because he bore our sins... He's afflicted, separated from the father, and he's all by himself. The anointing isn't there anymore, and in his terror and distress... He cries out;
Psalms 22(KJV)
[9.] But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother's breasts.
[10.] I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother's belly.
[11.] Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
[12.] Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
[13.] They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
[14] I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.
[15.] My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death."
He's in hell. He's crying to God for help, and does God hear him?
