2 (I). Worldly attachment:

From material things, to fear of survival, to letting go of your value for certain items, even people.

Matthew 10:37-39 (KJV)

"[37] He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. [38] And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. [39] He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it."

It's good to be ambitious, but once your ambition is self-driven and self-inspired, the Lord would take out your candle... because from there pride, greed, lust, and others pour out.

You have to disconnect and disassociate yourself from such things. People might start to perceive you as cold, hard-hearted, or void of love... But that is the price.

Matthew 10:34-36 (KJV)

"[34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. [35] For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. [36] And a man's foes shall be they of his own household."

(ii). Fear of survival:

Take no thought of your life—how you'd eat or sleep, or what you'd wear (carry neither scribe nor purse, Scriptures). The Lord would take care of you. He may demand you stop every other thing you are doing; He may not make such demands of you. The Lord really does call people out of their jobs to work for Him. He's more than able to pay far exceeding what that company would pay. The Lord calls people to leave everything and face their ministry. There's often a controversy around this topic in Christendom.

John 21:21-22 (KJV)

"[21] Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do? [22] Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me."

The Lord tells a different thing to every man. What is it to you if the Lord shuts off some people from the world, and He asks some to be forerunners? Let every man work according to the measure it is given to him.
