John 12:24–25, 35–36 (KJV)

[24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. [25] He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

[35] Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. [36] While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.”

Renouncing the Works of Darkness

It is one thing to accept the good news of salvation; it is another thing to renounce the hidden works of darkness. That is why the Bible admonishes us to lay aside every weight and distraction that drags us down.

Preparing as a Bride for Her Groom

How does a bride prepare for her groom? Preparation begins in the mind and then reflects outwardly. She is expectant, so she prepares everything—from the most significant to the most minute.

In the same way, it takes crucifixion of the flesh to be ready to meet the Lord. Some of us hold on to certain parts of ourselves and lay down the rest. But the requirement is full surrender. Surrendering all of yourself ushers you into the fullness of God’s greater blessing—the full embodiment of divinity.

When the Church of Christ becomes united, inseparably one voice, then the Lord will come.

---

The Lord’s Desire for His Church

The Lord is not pleased with the current state of the churches. He desires unity among us. He wants us to love one another and lay down our lives for each other.

Three Areas to Set Right Before the Lord’s Coming

1. Your Heart

What attaches you to this world? What metals are weighing your heart down? Pride? Envy? Unforgiveness? Fear? Bitterness? Lust?

Unless your heart becomes as light as a feather and you become as a little child, you cannot inherit the kingdom of God. Lay down the weight.

2. Your Diligence and Passion

Are you faithful to God? To righteousness, holiness, and your love for Him? Or have you become lukewarm?

Love the Lord fervently. Intensify your fellowship with Christ. Then you will discern the times and the seasons.

3. Your Service

There is a parable about the faithful steward. What will the Lord find you doing when He comes?

You can have a good heart and love the Lord, yet still be distant from your service. It may be your priesthood unto God, your witness to lost souls, or your financial support of the gospel. Whatever your assignment is: big or small, will He find you working?

The Call to Watchfulness

Luke 12:35–37, 39, 42–43, 45–48 (KJV)

“[35] Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; [36] and ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately. [37] Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

[39] And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

[42] And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season? [43] Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

[45] But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken; [46] the lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers. [47] And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. [48] But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”

A Prayer for You

May the Lord align you with the times and seasons of the Spirit, even without your knowing.

May the Lord enable you to be a faithful bride: in holiness, righteousness, and purity.

May the Holy Spirit keep you unspotted from the world, and may the Word of

The Lord make you whole, build you up, and lead you into the fullness of your inheritance in Christ. Amen.

Shalom.
