Chapter Five - Completion



 The End of Service

There is always that sure knowing in every servant when he or she reaches the end of service. Oh, what a great joy! Sometimes the Lord simply desires to call His servant home.

One does not necessarily die immediately after fulfilling his or her purpose. He or she may continue to live and remain a source of inspiration to others.

After the war, after the battles, after the fight of faith—it is the end.




Living in Expectation of the Lord’s Return

2 Peter 3:11–14 KJV

[11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

[13] Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

[14] Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.




A Life Lived with Reverence

How differently you would live your life if you expected the Lord to return at any moment—not tomorrow or the next day, but this evening.

That expectation would keep you holy and free from vanity. When you speak, you speak with reverence, because you know the Lord is listening.
