Chapter I (pg3)
Worship has not been done away with. God's temple has not been done away with. So why would tithing and offerings be done away with? If you are a Christian in such an erroneous view, it means your love for God is fickle. Tithing is a way to honour God and a test of your heart. Please, I beseech you, amend your ways. It's not right to judge if servants in God's house spend your money or not. If you are in a church and you know certainly you aren't growing, then leave — not staying home, but finding a body that can relate God's word with you. Again, when you hear God's word or chastening, harden not your heart.
Tithing is ten percent of your income. You don't have to be working to be a tither. Whatever money comes to you, in faith, take out ten percent and take it to God's house (let wisdom guide you). Remember, faith pleases God. So whatever is done with your money, God's blessings remain on you. You've acted on his word.
Offerings are not just money. They can be items relevant to God's house, like media systems, musical instruments, or chairs. Always bless your offerings before giving them. Give offerings in faith and consciousness. When going to see a king, you would be very foolish to go without a gift. Even when going to see elders or loved ones, you go with items — peace offerings. How much more God? These are ways to show appreciation, respect, and reverence for God.
