Chapter III (Pg2)

Service to your parents may sometimes feel difficult because of their perception or patterns of thought. Yet, as children, we are to serve with humility. Prepare their meals when called upon. Children could do the dishes, launder their clothes, run errands. Perform these acts of service cheerfully and without grumbling. Do them as unto the Lord, with excellence.

Your constant response should be: “Yes, Mummy. Yes, Daddy.”

Bind their instructions to your heart, for their guidance is life. If your mother warns you to close your legs and stay away from immorality, do it. Honour the Lord and your parents by obeying. Listen to their counsel on matters of life; whether finances, marriage, or family, and humble yourself before them. God will bless you for it.

Honour them with your substance. As an adult, give to them from time to time, provide for their needs. Listen attentively to their words. If you notice they lack anything, supply it. If your father’s car needs repairs, fix it. If your mother needs a new hairdo, pay for it. Buy them clothes. Support them joyfully.

When it comes to your spouse, be wise. Walk as though on a thin thread. Do not take sides blindly with either parent or spouse. Be fair and just, protecting both your home and family. Do not be hasty with words.
