Chapter Two Walking with the Lord Jesus Christ (Discipleship)

What manner of a man was Jesus Christ when He was here on earth? Large crowds followed Him, demons fled from Him; plants and animals obeyed His commands. He was a wonder, an iota of mystery. A case for study. To the Jews, He was a pain in the neck, that fly that kept on buzzing. They had no clue He was and is the King of Glory.

Who is a disciple?

A disciple is an ardent follower of his master. A copy, a replica, an example, a representative, a substitute. An imitator, an emissary, a pioneer.

A disciple isn't self-ruled... He's empowered by his master, and he's shown how to embody his master's will. He expresses the motives of his master.

The Lord Jesus is our master. There are brethren in the body of Christ. There are false brethren and sure brethren. Amongst the sure brethren, there are churchgoers, and there are disciples. We are disciples of Jesus. If you want to walk with the Lord Jesus and fulfill your divine destiny, you must walk the path of discipleship.

When The Lord Jesus prayed for the disciples in the book of John chapter 17, the 20th verse precisely, He didn't pray for the twelve alone, or the others present in that age... He prayed for all who would hear the message and accept it. Such are we. We are disciples of The Lord Jesus.

He is the good shepherd, and we are the sheep grazing from the pasture He shows us. He leads us by the streams of water; He restores our souls. The work of the lamb is to follow the bleating of the sheep; the work of the sheep is to follow the voice and gestures of the shepherd.

Praise God.

In the first chapter, there was an extensive description of the nature, divinity, and personality of the Lord Jesus. Now there's an understanding: how do we walk with Him?
