CHAPTER TWO: THE MESSAGE OF HOPE

V1-3

Job 14:13–16 NLT

[13] “I wish you would hide me in the grave and forget me there until your anger has passed. But mark your calendar to think of me again! [14] Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death. [15] You would call, and I would answer, and you would yearn for me, your handiwork. [16] For then you would guard my steps, instead of watching for my sins.

Job 14:7–9 KJV

[7] For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. [8] Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; [9] Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant."

V4.There is hope. Never lose hope. It doesn't matter how dark the situation is; you will see the light again.

V5.Hold on! Though your tears endure through the night, your joy is coming. Your light afflictions work for you...  V6. a greater weight of glory...

V7-9. Hope. Hope is believing that your current grotesque situation came to pass. Even when the situation looks absolutely hopeless, you feel like it's the end of it, I bring you hope... This is not the end of it.

V10-13. In 2 seconds, an absolute metamorphosis. A sudden change in the state of things. Hang on, and never lose hope.

V14. There's hope for a tree that has been cut off, and so there's hope for you. If all you had was taken from you, and you are left with nothing... absolutely nothing... you are not without hope. Your hope is your seed that could reproduce everything.

V15. Samson had fed off the dead, drunk wine, and had his hair cut. But his hair began to grow again. Hope.

V16-17. The sun may set, but it will rise again. That situation will pass.

If Samson had prayed for mercy and restoration, he would have gotten it. He didn't ask for his hair to grow again, but it did. He asked for strength one last time.

V18-22. The Lord says, ask... and it shall be given unto you.

V.23 "Lord, I'm getting out of this thing."

"This is not the end of me."

V24. Imagine how heartbroken Joseph was on his way to Egypt as a bondservant.

Imagine the pain of Christ as He carried the cross to Mount Golgotha. What was on His mind?

Though His bones were crushed and His flesh dangled: His hope was steady, and it was His hope that carried that cross.

V25. Hope is what made Abraham bold enough to offer a love sacrifice. He didn't flinch, he didn't waver. Not caring if his son might not be raised from the dead, he irrefutably offered his son as a love sacrifice because he had hope that he already was the father of many nations, and that God cannot lie.

Hope works with patience. In the book Voice Of God Volume 2, I wrote extensively on the spirit of patience. Do read it.

You won't see instant results... but if you hold on... if you remain planted on a solid rock, and keep prophesying...

V26. Suddenly...

Basakaya.

Suddenly...

Unexpectedly...

Amazingly...

V27. Have you ever said a prayer, and then when your prayers were answered, you were shocked and said...

V28. "Impossible! This can't be real!"

V29.But you said it...

V.30. Hope. Hope is believing patiently for a change.

V31. Hold on to hope, against all odds.

Numbers 24:17–19 KJV

"[17] I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. [18] And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly. [19] Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city."

V32.There was hope for Israel, that a mighty King would come, ferocious in battle... He would lead them into victory, and He would win the wars ceaselessly.

V33.The Star of David came out of Jacob, and the Son of David was the Star of Jerusalem. The bright star that traveled with the three Wisemen.

V34.The Lord has conquered them all.

V35.Have hope.

V36. The hope of the church is the return of Christ. We may not see him, always feel his presence, or touch him, but we know he's coming. What is your hope?
