Chapter II - Service To The Body Of Christ

 THE BODY OF CHRIST

The body of Christ is the Church. Therefore, anyone outside the Church is outside the body and cannot go where the body goes.

The Church is both a preparation for, and a representation of, the Kingdom of God which already abides in us. In the body of Christ, each of us has been called to the divine act of service: to the ministry of reconciliation. The body of Christ requires selfless servants, men and women who are willing to stake their lives for the Kingdom and the Gospel.

We are the Church. We are the body. Different members make up the body, each functioning for the survival and perfection of the whole.

The Church consists of brethren, evangelists, apostles, pastors, teachers, and prophets—all for the edification, exhortation, and growth of the body of Christ. It is God’s will that we fellowship together, strengthening and loving one another in service.
