Chpt 1(Pg15)

The second means Jesus’ presence is invited in through obedience to His commandments.

John 14:21 NLT

"[21] Those who accept My commandments and obey them are the ones who love Me. And because they love Me, My Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal Myself to each of them.

[23] …All who love Me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and We will come and make Our home with each of them."

In other words, if you want to invite Him in, you have to obey His commandments. Question is: what are His commandments?

There is one esteemed above all.

John 13:33-35 (AMP)

"33 Little children, I am with you [only] a little longer. You will look for Me, and as I told the Jews, so I tell you now, ‘Where I am going, you are not able to come.’ 34 I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too are to love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you have love and unselfish concern for one another.”

This is the greatest commandment He has given. He didn’t say when you cast out devils, everyone would know you are My disciples. Oh! When you slap the sickness off the people, all shall know you are My disciples? Scream on, shout it on the top of your lungs, My name! Pray to the hearing of the people! That’s when they’d know you are My disciples? That’s what He said, right?

Emphatically: "No!" He said, by your love and unselfish concern for one another, by your care, by your sacrifice. More of this would be discussed, but I already wrote two articles on this: "The Commandments of The Lord Jesus." It's available in the book titled "Voice of God (Volume 1)"

Many more commandments:

"Give to the poor!"

"Preach the Gospel!"

"Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils!"

"Forsake all, and follow Me."

There are quite a couple, and there are personal commands for you as you walk with Him: "Don’t tell lies, sell some items, give some items, don’t go to certain places, don’t say certain things." Your job is to say, "Yes, Master."

As you obey the Lord on a personal or generic level, look what happens:

John 14:23

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him."

Your fellowship attracts Him; your obedience makes Him stay.
