The Art of Happiness 🌞🎊👊
In present times, it seems almost sinful to some to laugh freely and unreservedly.
It feels wrong: branded as childish, unserious, even uncanny. Many are reprimanded for being playful and outgoing, disrespected for being goofy, and preyed upon for being bubbly. Meanwhile, the constant frowners are often seen as the true achievers, for seriousness is mistakenly equated with competence.
But happiness ( real happiness) is a gift you offer yourself. It is a choice, an attitude, a way of living.
Learning how to balance productivity with joy is essential. Too many people get so carried away with work, career, academics, or business that they lose themselves in the process. They drown in duty, burn out, and eventually become unproductive.

Happiness and Wellness
My father used to say, “Nurture the act of quiet laughter with yourself.”
And as we’ve all been told at some point, “Laughter is the best medicine.”
Cultivate a mental attitude toward happiness. Be intentional about the activities that bring you joy.
Fix them into your schedule; not as distractions, but as necessities that boost both your productivity and your well-being.
Don’t work so hard that you forget to live. Spend your earnings on experiences and little pleasures that make you feel alive. Because if you don’t, life (which possesses a wicked sense of humor) has a funny way of redistributing your wealth — to the healthcare industry, the hospitality industry (when planning your farewell), or perhaps even to the bank that will close your account once you’re gone.

Recreation, Leisure, and Tourism
Recreation
Recreation refers to activities people engage in during their free time for enjoyment, relaxation, and mental or physical refreshment.
It’s fun with a purpose. It recharges the body and clears the mind. Recreation could be as simple as playing football, swimming, dancing, or taking a quiet walk in nature. Unlike work or chores, recreation is not an obligation but a desire. It relieves stress, builds social connection, and improves overall well-being. A healthy society promotes recreational activities because they foster happiness, fitness, and creativity.

Leisure
Leisure is the free time left after fulfilling daily responsibilities such as work, school, or household duties. It’s the time you control. It's your call to choose how to spend it.
Leisure isn’t defined by what you do, but by the freedom to choose. It’s the breathing space in a busy life. The moments when you rest, reflect, or simply enjoy existing. You might spend your leisure reading a novel, watching a movie, or lying quietly under the sun. Leisure brings balance; it’s where peace, creativity, and contentment grow.
---
Tourism
Tourism is the act of traveling to and staying in places outside one’s usual environment for pleasure, exploration, or relaxation; typically for a limited time.
It goes beyond recreation. Tourism is an adventure of discovery: visiting new destinations, tasting new cuisines, experiencing new cultures, and witnessing the wonders of the world. It can be domestic or international, but wherever it takes you, tourism broadens the mind and nurtures the soul. It’s also a powerful global industry that promotes cultural exchange and sustains economies through hospitality and entertainment.

In Simple Terms
Leisure is the time you have free.
Recreation is what you do with that time.
Tourism is where you go to enjoy that time.
Together, they form the triangle of relaxation and joy which is essential for a healthy, balanced, happy and fulfilled life.
Do you play a sport? Do you have a favorite TV channel? Do you travel occasionally?
These aren’t luxuries — they’re essentials. You need them.

Always find ways to please yourself mindfully and meaningfully.
But above all, the greatest form of happiness is found in making others happy.
It is the purest pleasure there is. It's knowing you are the reason behind someone’s smile, laughter, or tears of joy. Knowing you are the walking answer to a prayer once whispered.
That is the highest stream of happiness there is.
