Mindful living (Pg2)

How to care for my mental health.

Activities that nurture my mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social health.

How can I use 24 hours productively?

Mental health activities include meditation; filtration of news and information; reading; intentional development of mindset, morals, principles, and ideology; watching documentaries; listening to podcasts and messages from sound leaders and teachers; and self-review—assessing behavior and reactions to situations.

Physical health activities include proper nutrition, exercise, fitness routines, sports, recreation, and tourism.

Spiritual health activities include quiet time, prayer, Bible study, fulfillment of purpose, and fellowship with other believers.

Emotional health activities include spending time with loved ones; reading books on emotional discovery and management; and non-physical exercises such as self-restraint, emotional intelligence, and healthy self-expression. Bottling emotions creates inner conflict, but proper expression restores balance and wellness.

Social health activities involve belonging to a social group you interact with weekly, maintaining an active social media presence, and attending functions within and outside religious settings. These experiences reduce naivety, promote prudence in interpersonal dealings, and broaden one’s horizons of productivity and influence.

In summary, incorporate activities into a seven-day weekly plan that nurture your personal time, family, career, health, leisure, recreation, and mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, and social well-being.

Twenty-four hours may not be enough, but within 168 hours (seven days), all of these can be achieved. Some activities—such as recreation and social engagements—may be scheduled once a week, and some can be reoccurring; depending on preference.
