Prologue (pg2)
In the Kingdom, What Is Your Reasonable Relevance?
“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” — John 15:15 (KJV)
As much as we are labourers in God’s kingdom, we are not belittled. The Master calls us friends. He has seated us in the same place of authority with Himself and glorified us in Him.
Romans 8:16–18 (KJV)
“The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.
18. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
My highly esteemed pastor, Pastor Henry Akasili (at the time of writing, the Acting Campus Ministry Director of the notable Believers’ Loveworld Inc.), often says that one day we will stand before our Lord Jesus, the Master, and He will look at us with a smile and say, “Thank you”—as He presents us with our eternal rewards.
From the scripture above, we have this assurance: it is Jesus calling to us, saying, “My friends, come now, let us labour together. The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. In faithfulness and patience, endure with Me. Work alongside Me, and we shall also glory together. A far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory awaits you. After your labour for Me is complete, I will take you into My Father’s house, into My kingdom, and there I will prepare a feast for you. You will rule with Me—just be patient.”
