2 Corinthians 3:1-2, 5-6, 9 KJV
"[1] Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or need we, as some others,
epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? [2] Ye
are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:
[5] Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but
our sufficiency is of God; [6] who also hath made us able ministers of the new
testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit
giveth life.
[9] For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the
ministration of righteousness exceed in glory."
Hence, we are made able ministers of reconciliation. What a gracious
opportunity to be reconciled and to reconcile others with God!
The Lord Jesus said:
Matthew 5:9 KJV
"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
As children, we aren't selfish enough to keep God all to ourselves. He's more
than able to satisfy our souls, as numerous as we are. He's big enough for all
of us! So we don't hold back like Jonah (praying judgment and punishment on
the disobedient). No. We, in the manner of Christ, obtain mercy on behalf of
others who are out of the way, and we reconcile them to the Creator and
Father of all.
Have you ever gotten someone reconciled to God?
A hopeless one.
A grieving one.
A rebellious one, basking in sin.
An ignorant one.
1 Timothy 2:3-5 KJV
"[3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] who will
have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. [5]
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man
Christ Jesus;"
And the Lord Jesus said:
John 20:21 KJV
"Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath
sent me, even so send I you."
Therefore, we have received the ministry of reconciliation from our Lord Jesus. That as He is, so are we in this world.
1 John 4:17 KJV
"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of
judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world."
And if we labour with Him, we shall glory in Him when He comes to receive
us unto Himself, on His seat of steadfast glory, sovereignty, and power.
Fear hinders many from fulfilling this ministry, but we have not received the
spirit of fear. Rather, we have received as an inheritance the Spirit of love, of
power, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)
A sound mind potent enough to dissolve doubts and absorb the promises of God.
What is the promise of God to a Minister of Reconciliation?
Daniel 12:2-3 KJV
"[2] And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,
some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
[3] And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the
firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for
ever and ever."
It is the promise of resurrection and glory. This glory is the life in Christ. That
is why the Lord Jesus said:
John 11:25 KJV
"... I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"
If you'd like to actively demonstrate the ministry of reconciliation, pray with me.
"Gracious God, who holds all things by the breath of Your command, I
glorify You. I worship You, I adore You, I honour You with my life.
Lord, I thank You for the privilege of being one with You. I thank You
that my name is boldly written in the Book of Life. Lord, now that I'm on
earth, I want my family members and friends to experience the life I live
in You. Help me to minister boldly to my world. Help me to be strategic
and effective in this ministry of reconciliation.
I thank You because I have asked according to Your will, and even before
I asked, You had already answered. Therefore, in the name of the Lord
Jesus Christ, I receive power and boldness to minister to my world, with
all confidence, no man forbidding me.
Acts 28:31 KJV
"
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him."
In Jesus' name. Amen."
