God Has Not Given Us Fear
2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
“[7] For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
The proof of God in a human being is love. That is why the Apostle John stated:
The Nature of Godly Love
1 John 4:7, 8, 13–21 (BSB)
“7. Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
8. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
9. By this we know that we remain in Him, and He in us: He has given us of His Spirit.
10. And we have come to know and believe the love that God has for us. God is love; whoever abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
11. In this way, love has been perfected among us, so that we may have confidence on the day of judgment; for in this world we are just like Him.
12. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. The one who fears has not been perfected in love.
13. We love because He first loved us.
14. If anyone says, ‘I love God,’ but hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
15. And we have this commandment from Him: Whoever loves God must love his brother as well.”
This is the trademark of every true follower of Christ. It is how you tell the sheep from the goats.
The Difference Between Godly Love and Godless Love
Those who are not born of God have no love. When they do, it is possessive, obsessive, limiting, controlling, and destructive.
Where there is godly love, there is kindness, patience, forgiveness, sacrifice, understanding, repentance, and giving.
But the love of a godless individual is belittling and isolating.
Little wonder the Bible tells us, “By their fruits, you shall know them.”
The Mark of the World
The mark of a witch is hatred. The children of this world are marked by bitterness, wickedness, selfishness, injustice, possessiveness, greed, and covetousness.
When the children of love tend to sacrifice, the children of the world covet. Hence, the Apostle John tells us: “Anyone who says he loves God but hates his brother is a liar.”
The Spirit of Love
The Spirit of Love is from God. This Spirit shares the love of Christ abroad in your heart. Love becomes your nature. You don’t try to love people; you become Love Personified.
The Spirit of Love is ministered by the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord.
When you have reverence for God, the Spirit of Love overshadows you. Only those who fear God truly love the brethren: deeply and honestly. If they don’t, they do not have the fear of God; they are power-hungry hypocrites who try to use the church for validation.
If you have difficulty forgiving and accommodating other brethren, you need the Spirit of Love. Earnest, heartfelt worship manifests the fear of God in your heart. You’ll love naturally.
Soak in God’s Presence
Take out time right now to worship the Lord. If you always have problems with other believers (if it is always you against everybody) you need spiritual drip. Soak yourself in the presence of God, for God is love. Hallelujah.

A Prayer for You
Let the love of God continually be renewed in your heart.
May you know the length, breadth, width, and height of the love Christ has for you.
And may you be enabled to love others with the same measure.
May you walk in love regardless of scrutiny, ridicule, or misdeeds.
May the love of Christ take deep root in you. Amen.
God bless you.
Shalom.
