Quotes (Phase 4)

Image
Sometimes we are reluctant to recognize the end of an era, the conception of a  generation, and the birth of new things. Sometimes new seasons could mean new  environments, and new people. But because of uncertainty and lack of clarity we shut  certain doors and stick with what is familiar. I used to hold on to my rugged toys as a child... Even when my father tried to discard  them. I'd rather patch them than embrace the new toys he'd promised because I wasn't  sure I'd like them. However, my father always knew how to please me. He knew what I  liked, and I soon learnt how to let go. All toys are not the same, but they all bring pleasure and comfort. My father may have  replaced my doll with a teddy, I may not have been able to sew skirts for my teddy, but  its softness could bring a unique comfort when I slept. Sometimes we inhabit water and fire, to stay lukewarm because of the instability of  change.  But can fire burn on flowi...

WEEKLY MAGAZINE (Should A Christian kneel to propose?)

Image
How can a King kneel before his Queen? It’s absurd, right? A couple of months ago, a gentleman approached my mother to ask for my  hand. He brought precious items. These items pleased my mother, and  because he pleased my mother, I started paying attention to him. One day, he offended me, and I withdrew. When he finally saw me, he fell at  my feet and started asking for my grace. I was astonished and quickly joined  him on the floor. He being a reputable man of honor, I pleaded with him to  stand up. He asked, “ Have you forgiven me? ” I responded, “ Yes .” “ So you are no longer upset?” I said, “ I’m still upset, but I’ve forgiven you. Please stand up.” Then he said, “ Until you are no longer upset, I wouldn’t stand up.” Then I said, “ Please just stand up...” Then he said, “ Until you forgive me, I wouldn’t stand up. ” Then I said, “ I forgive you, and I’m no longer angry .” Then we both stood up, and he said something that stuck. He said, "A king may stand ta...

QUOTES (PHASE 3)

Image
' You can loose the battles, but you must win the war.' A war is a collection of several battles. What is the end of it for you? Before engaging, one must sit down to count the cost.  Not every battle is worth fighting. There are times you quietly walk away. There is nothing wrong with craving to be treated with dignity and respect. Every human is entitled to respect and the right to fair hearing. Nevertheless... Ignore the itch to defend yourself or tell your side of the story. Ignore the lies and false branding tainting your name. True wisdom is viewing all perspectives before casting judgment. If anyone loves you, they would know you—what you are capable of and what you are not. Anyone easily swayed by tongues never had your best interest at heart. The Lord Jesus willingly walked into the trap His beloved disciple had set for Him, and He sat down to eat His last meal with a traitor. He decided to be overwhelmed by the battles He chose. This willful surrender enabled Him to t...

QUOTES (PHASE 2)

Vulnerability is a demonstration of Quiet Strength .  It is withholding the power to flee, to hide, to question, to doubt, to judge, to condemn— and allowing oneself to bleed. To bleed fear, to bleed the looming threat of rejection,  failure, and scorn. Vulnerability is where faith thrives. We all know faith is a mustard seed, right? This art inspires the idea that some doors—so imposing, so invincible, so inconceivable,  so fortified—require a soft touch, a gentle penetration, a fragile ego… and then comes  the creaking, even the unlocking of that door. We grow in life as we move from one stage to another. And as we grow, we must  discard certain sandals. It takes vulnerability to let go of the old in search of the new,  knowing fully well that one’s bare feet may be exposed to danger. It takes vulnerability to hope, and to trust the process. It takes vulnerability to wait for  certain seasons to pass so that others may be embraced. It takes vu...
