Wear your scars, but don't let them define you.

In the rise, race, and journey of life, we tend to witness ugly circumstances.

 We make wrong choices that rub against our very nature—our humanity.

 In our pursuit of divinity, we try to tag our humanity along. We try to

 satisfy our desires and cravings and attain divinity.

This race leaves us with scars. No matter how hard we scrub them, 

they never erase. When we are conscious of them, they cause us pain 

that should have healed. They cause us embarrassment and slow down

 our race.

Wearing your scars is the acceptance that you had an experience that 

tried to knock you down, but you held on to hope and guarded your loins

 with resilience. It's understanding that the circumstances were beyond

 your control, but you fought your way to safety and sanity.

You left the battle with a scar. But this scar doesn't define you. It may 

have contributed to your way of thinking; it may have helped shape

 the you that you see in the mirror, but it's not who you are. 

You are not a prisoner of those scars. They don't make you ugly or rough.

You may wear them, but to you, they simply do not exist. The negative

 attention they draw, the discrimination they attract, and the pain

 they tempt you with should be unreal to you. 

Accept that they have come to stay, yet you should also remain unbothered.

You must remain focused and on track, even when you know there

 are many more scars to come. Wear the crown of oblivion.

“Define you”  written in the image above stands out because you choose

 to create yourself. You were born without a fully formed identity. 

Biological factors shaped you, but it is left to you to “define you.”

The question is, who are you? And when all is said and done, who

 would the world recognize when your name is mentioned?

Your kindness blurs the lines and exits

How could I fight back when it was you wielding the sword?

Sometimes, it's not about the damage; it's about who caused it. You can endure countless blows from the world, but one blow from the person you trusted can be enough to bring you to your knees.

What made Samson's downfall so devastating was not merely that he was betrayed, but that it was Delilah who handed him over.

If Jonathan had betrayed David, David would have lost his will to fight.

Sometimes, the people we want to protect and fight for become our very undoing.

Imagine the sorrow the Lord Jesus must have felt when Judas handed Him over for thirty pieces of silver.

He had a heads-up, but the pain made Him weak and of few words. The same Judas whose feet He had washed. The one who was trusted to be the treasurer. He abused his office as treasurer, and he abused his office as a close companion of Christ.

What do we do when we are abused by the ones we try to protect?

Sometimes, you have to let go.

Because if you refuse to let go, they may become your one-way ticket to the sickbed or the grave. The signs are always there. You see them, but you ignore them. You call it mercy. You call it patience. You keep giving them another chance.

But sometimes, your mercy becomes the very thing they use to learn how to hurt you better. 

Not everyone you protect will protect you.

Sometimes, the hardest person to walk away from is the very person whose hands are holding the sword.

And you would watch your heart dangle, as the sword beautifully

 shreds it to pieces.

Power is very destructive if left untamed. That is why every system that introduces power has a restraining mechanism. That is the essence of legality.

People who hold true power have come to understand this principle. Therefore, they harnessed an orb to trap the destructive ability of power before receiving it.

Power obtained illegally stinks, and it causes chaos because the holder abuses it.

Weakness is the haste to prove you have power and authority to frighten others.

Legal power is always restrained. You barely notice its presence because the wielder has mastered it. The wielder has passed the tests and hurdles.

Strong people know the destruction they could cause when they go all out, so they assume every other person is of equal strength. Therefore, they try as much as possible to extend peace. They weigh the destruction and consider the costs—lives, resources, relationships, energy, and above all... peace.

But weaklings? They are in haste to prove their authority. They throw their darts at any perceived threat. They instigate violence, malice, ill-speaking, and discord. They are like raging bulls, goring everything in their path until they meet their Waterloo.

Pride comes before a fall, and a haughty spirit goes before destruction.

The United Nations was established for a reason, even though that too is abused.

People were tired of fighting, of chasing and being on the run. So, the world decided to put away greed and the need to subdue other nations and walk in unity.

However, weak men came on board and rigged the agreement deceptively.

Inarguably, the only person you truly have to tame is yourself: your pride, your lust, your ungodly desires, greed, cunning nature, perversion, and the like.

Because if you seek to tame others without subduing yourself, you would be a disaster waiting to happen—a ticking time bomb.

Little wonder the Apostle Paul said, “I beat my my body, and bring it into subjection.”

And the Lord Jesus also said, “First cast out the beam out of thine own eye;

 and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.”
