How to break a fast.

 Fasting And Replenishing

Fasting and Replenishing is all about pause, then restore: giving the body a break, then feeding it right so it comes back stronger, not weaker.

 What is Fasting?

Fasting is a voluntary break from food (and sometimes drink) for a period of time. People fast for:

Spiritual reasons (prayer, reflection).

Health reset (digestive rest, discipline).

Mental clarity (focus, self-control).

When done sensibly, fasting allows the body to:

Rest the digestive system,

Improve awareness of hunger vs. habit,

Encourage metabolic balance.

Note: fasting is not punishment, it’s intentional rest.

🌱 What is Replenishing?

Replenishing is the intentional re-feeding after fasting. This part is just as important as the fast itself.

Good replenishing:

Restores energy,

Replaces lost nutrients,

Prevents weakness, dizziness, or cravings.

🍽️ How to Replenish Properly (Very Important)

After fasting, avoid rushing into heavy meals.

Start gentle.

Water or warm fluids.

Fruits (pawpaw, orange, watermelon).

Light soups or pap.

Then move to balanced meals.

Carbohydrates: rice, yam, swallow (moderate portion),

Protein: beans, eggs, fish, chicken,

Fats: avocado, nuts,

Vegetables: ugu, spinach, okra, ewedu.

Avoid immediately:

Very oily foods,

Excess sugar,

Overeating “to compensate”.

⚖️ Balance Matters

Fasting without proper replenishing can lead to fatigue or nutrient loss

Replenishing without discipline cancels the benefits of fasting.

Think of it like this:

Fasting cleans the slate. Replenishing writes a better story.
