Be Ready for His Return
The Call to Watchfulness
Matthew 24:43–46 (AMP)
“[43] But understand this: If the head of the house had known what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. [Luke 12:39, 40]
[44] Therefore, you [who follow Me] must also be ready; because the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not expect Him.
[45] Who then is the faithful and wise servant whom his master has put in charge of his household to give the others [in the house] their food and supplies at the proper time? [Luke 12:42–46]
[46] Blessed is that [faithful] servant when his master returns and finds him doing so.”
This is the consciousness that drove the Apostles to do all that they did. They lived with the awareness that He could come at any time. There is so much you can achieve when you truly believe.
Are You Prepared?
Are you conscious of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Are you going to be left behind?
He must find you busy.
The Warning to the Unfaithful
Matthew 24:48–51 (AMP)
“[48] But if that servant is evil and says in his heart, ‘My master is taking his time [he will not return for a long while],’
[49] and begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards;
[50] the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour of which he is not aware,
[51] and will cut him in two and put him with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping [over sorrow and pain] and grinding of teeth [over distress and anger].”
The two stewards are both servants, but one was unfaithful and became weary in well-doing.
The Bridegroom and the Bride
In Judaism, the bride is kept in a place until the father of the groom sends forth his son to collect her.
This reflects the parable of the ten virgins, with oil in their lamps.
We ought to watch and pray. Be on the lookout, for it is those who are alive and burning that will be taken.
Run to the Finish Line
My dear brothers and sisters, I admonish you: let us give it our best shot. It is the runner who runs at the latter end—having received the baton—who crosses the finish line. We are the last runners. Run with all the strength you can muster.
Do not be carried away by sleep (spiritual sleep: lukewarm devotion).
The Lord is coming soon.
A Call to Self-Examination
The apostles did all they did because they took advantage of the grace in Christ Jesus, and they were ever expectant of His return.
When this consciousness becomes your truth, it awakens a keen desire for steadfastness.
Check yourself. If there is anything not right, amend it: greed, bitterness, lust, rebellion, envy, pride.
Submit yourself under the hand of God and set your heart right. The Lord Jesus is coming soon. Repent from your backsliding.

Prayer of Repentance
Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a humble and repentant heart.
I acknowledge my sins and shortcomings—every act of disobedience, pride, rebellion, bitterness, lust, envy, and every way I have turned from Your path.
Lord, have mercy on me.
Wash me clean with the blood of Jesus.
Renew a right spirit within me and restore the joy of my salvation.
Create in me a pure heart and strengthen me to walk in Your ways.
I submit myself under Your mighty hand. Help me to live a life that pleases You and honors You daily.
Thank You, Father, for Your forgiveness and unfailing love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer of Salvation
Lord Jesus,
I believe that You are the Son of God.
I believe that You died for my sins and that You rose again on the third day.
Today, I confess You as my Lord and my Saviour.
Forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me with Your precious blood.
Come into my heart and make me a new creation.
From this moment forward, I choose to follow You.
Give me the strength to live for You, to love You, and to walk in Your truth all the days of my life.
Thank You Lord Jesus for saving me. I'm born again. Praise God!
