CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: SEED TIME AND HARVEST

Luke 10:2 KJV

"[2] Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers

are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth

 labourers into his harvest."

In these last days, people are so hungry for the Lord. They are ready to

sit for hours, to give all they have, and to demonstrate faith and courage.

They want an understanding of the gospel.

But how would they hear it without a preacher?

Acts 8:26–28, 30–31 KJV

[26] And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

[27] And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

[28] Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

[30] And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

[31] And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Don't be intimidated by their positions or outlook. Stand boldly and

declare the word of God. You are the voice of God.

Every human is subject to God. When people recognize God in you,

they may bow in humble adoration and give you an audience.

The most honourable transaction is winning a soul through the gospel,

by the hope bestowed upon us by our Lord Jesus Christ.

He's paid the price. He's sown the seeds, and the apostles watered them.

Now we are the harvesters, gathering souls together with the angels

of the Lord.

Acts 8:34–39 KJV

"[34] And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

[35] Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

[36] And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

[37] And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

[38] And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

[39] And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing."

There's a time for everything: a time to plant, a time to water, and a time to reap.

I see angels with sickles. I hear a call; I see haste. Urgency. There's a lot of

contention. I hear the ticking of a clock. Tick, tick, tick. There's a countdown.

Now, when there's only 60 seconds to grab as many gifts as possible

in a mall, just how wide would you spread your arms? Just how full

would you fill your rack? Just how fast would you run?

Every second is a countdown.

John 9:4 KJV

"[4] I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night

cometh, when no man can work."

A Prayer for You

May your most holy faith achieve greater heights, and may your capacity

be increased. May you be where the Spirit of God wants you to be,

and may He stir you up, working in you both to will and to do. May

His fire burn in your bones, and may His words consume your lips.

May He cause you to do the work of an evangelist. Amen.

Shalom, shalom.
