CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: THE MERCY OF GOD

1 John 1:7-10 KJV "[7] but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have

fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth

us from all sin. [8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and

the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to

forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say

that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

God only knows. He sees. He understands. He rebukes, and he condemns. His

mercy is for all generations, but only to the repentant hearts.

Many abuse the tenderness and mercy of God... Even the angels who sort

their lost estate with strong crying and tears were shown no Mercy.

Exodus 33:18-19 KJV "[18] And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory. [19]

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim

the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be

gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy. "

There is willful sin, and there are sins committed through weakness or

 circumstances.

Every act would be met with a just recompense.

You can't cajole God to forgive blasphemy, ridicule, irreverence, and offence.

You can't choose Mammon, and entreat his loving kindness.

Galatians 6:7 KJV "[7] Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a

man soweth, that shall he also reap."

Genuine love seeks to mend broken bridges, even though the circumstances

 seem irreversible.

When you bruise God's loving kindness, are you genuinely sorry? Even when

you can't undo the things you did.

If you belittle God's presence, and you seek after enticing pleasures and

comfort... Do you know how to seek him and win his affection?

God is gentle and fierce. He is loving and combative.

The difference between David and Saul was that one was quick to repent; the

other remained arrogant and unrepentant. Hence, with all David's

shortcomings, he won the favor of God.

God's mercy is not for the unrepentant; there is a qualification to be a

candidate of God's mercy. It's not for the braggadocios or uncanny. It's for the

 meek and loving soul.

It's hard to do without God when he's really in your heart. What you love,

you protect.

Others would watch how you behave towards God and treat him accordingly.

If you dishonour God, they would hastily dishonour him. But when you hold

Him in high regard and Esteem, they will follow accordingly. If you speak in a

condescending manner about God, you just caused others to follow suit.

God has emotions, he feels deeply, and he cries too.

Do you want to be the reason God cries? That's a terrible achievement. Do you

want God to regret staying with you, choosing you above all others, and

 finding delight in you?

There are people who cause God great heartache, and there are others who

wake up everyday and their cause is to please him.

God is long suffering, he's tender, he is compassionate... But he does know

how to silently walk out of a union that was so beautiful when reverence

 departs.

Don't make God sorry he chose you. Don't make him repent of his devotion to

you. Sometimes when God gets really silent in the life of a man, it gets

terrifying. It makes him think, is God still with me?

God leaves people over the most minute things because he has endured for a

long time... But the person in question has no genuine remorse.

Adam and Eve were sent out of the garden over a light misdeed that the

whole human race is still suffering for. The same God who stripped himself

of poise and was always in the garden with Adam.

Let us handle our relationship with God with utmost care, reverence, and

 value.

Say this

"I'm a candidate for God's mercy."

"I have the wisdom to walk right with God."

"I have the Spirit of humility and the Spirit of love."

When you hear his voice, harden not your heart. The voice of God can be

heard in the most unexpected way.

A prayer for you

May God's mercy and loving kindness not be far from you, may he hear you

when you call to him with a repentant heart, Amen.

God bless you,

Shalom.
