CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: SERVE THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART

 V.1-3

‭Mark 12:29-30 KJV‬

"[29] And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is: Hear, O

 Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: [30] and thou shalt love the Lord thy

 God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with

 all thy strength: this is the first commandment."


V.4-7

A double-minded man is unstable and unfulfilled. You don't lay hold of one,

 and cling to the other. You'd end up losing both.

V.8

You can't love God, and your personal desires. God's purpose must always

 come first. In God, we find our true purpose and predestination.


V.9

What does it mean to love God?



Obedience. The Lord Jesus told His disciples, v.10. "If you love me; keep my

 commandments."



V.11-22. To love God is to obey and submit to Him. Not just some instructions,

 but all of them.


V. 23-26. To love God is to decide to stand up for His precepts, no matter the cost.


He's the ultimate "Pearl of Great Price."



V.27. The Lord's demands are costly, but that is the price one must pay to fulfill

 destiny.

V.28

Embrace servitude. Embrace the repercussions that come with it. Though

 sorrow may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning.


V.29

For we are confident of this very thing: that if we suffer with Him, we shall

 glory together with Him... And He will announce us before our Father and all

 the angels.



V.30

What does it feel like for God to be proud of you? To be pleased with you in all

 your ways? To have no discredit before Him?


It's the testimony built by serving with all your heart, all your might, and v.31. 

 all your soul.



Matthew 10:39 AMP

[39] Whoever finds his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through

 death], and whoever loses his life [in this world] for My sake will find it [that

 is, life with Me for all eternity]. [Matt 16:25; Mark 8:35; Luke 9:24; 17:33; John

 12:25]


V.32

Loving God is dying to your will and personal plans... In order to diligently

 serve Him.








How can I love God? one may ask.


V.33-35

By accepting Him. When you accept His word, the love automatically springs

 up. To know Him is to love Him. And to know Him is eternal life.


So give attention to His word through meditation and Bible study.

 


V.36
