CHAPTER TWENTY FIVE: WALKING WITH THE LORD

 

Genesis 17:1-5, 7 AMP

"[1] When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and

 said, “I am God Almighty; Walk [habitually] before Me [with integrity,

 knowing that you are always in My presence], and be blameless and

 complete [in obedience to Me]. [2] “I will establish My covenant (everlasting

 promise) between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly [through

 your descendants].”

[3] Then Abram fell on his face [in worship], and God spoke with him, saying,

 [4] “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, And [as a result] you shall be

 the father of many nations. [5] “No longer shall your name be Abram (exalted

 father), But your name shall be Abraham (father of a multitude); For I will

 make you the father of many nations.

[7] I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants

 after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God

 to you and to your descendants after you. [Gal 3:16]"





What a beautiful promise he had received from the Lord. He was rich within,

 but outwardly he had only a tent and some animals to show for it. He was the

 ultimate "Custodian of heavenly treasures."



There was no name greater, so God swore by His own name, saying that He

 would bless Abraham and make his descendants as numerous as the stars.


He was greater than the kings of the earth! He had a say in how their lives

 were to go! Even with all their wealth, he conquered them in battle—the

 kings of Sodom, Gomorrah, and the other cities.


That is the benefit of walking with the Lord...

So it doesn't matter what others say. Let them call your story "from rags to

 riches."


No. There were never rags. It is the same you with different levels of

 manifestation. They don't know you. They didn't know the Lord Jesus either;

 hence they crucified Him. The crucifixion would only elevate you into your

 true light.



God works on you before He reveals you. There is a time for everything. You

 are His vineyard, which He prunes and waters. When the harvest comes...

 your fruit will be on the finest tables.



Every true minister must first master the presence of God in order to stand

 before the presence of men. If you don't learn how to walk with God... you'd

 go out there and disgrace the Kingdom of God. You'd cause many to backslide

 because of your attitude.



Don't rush off to work on others and bring them to Christ when God hasn't

 worked on you. After all, you are the example they'd replicate. Your disciples

 are going to follow everything you do, so you must first be rid of all

 malignant tendencies.




Walking with God is learning to walk by faith.


Hebrews 11:6 (BSB)

"And without faith it is impossible to please God. For anyone who approaches

 Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly

 seek Him."

When you learn to trust God beyond any reason for hesitation or doubt, to

 obey Him, and to sacrifice whatever He demands of you, you will show

 others how to walk with the Lord.
