CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX: HE NEVER LEAVES
Matthew 28:18–20 KJV
«"[18] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me
in heaven and in earth. [19] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20]
teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo,
I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen."»
When I was on campus, I used to worry a lot. And the only one who could
make me worry's the Lord. Then He'd tell me,
"Never worry, never fret, never doubt. No matter what you do, or how far you
go, I will never leave nor forsake you, Pearl. In every circumstance, I am right
there."
This love brought out the best in me. It made me protective over my
relationship with God. I felt inadequate, incapable, but He was my anchor.
Now I have a lion's heart.
People say, "Nothing is permanent, nothing lasts forever... People come and
go."
Oh, how beautiful it is to have that one confidant you can trust—someone you
can lean on and be completely unashamed in their presence. Someone who
never leaves.
Do not abuse such a privilege. The Lord is long-suffering, not eternal-suffering.
Humbling circumstances may happen—just like the case of Job.
Circumstances that make you the talk of the town. Instead of sympathy, one
may meet mockery. The Lord is right there. In your failing marriage, He's at
the center. In the loss of your loved one, He's right beside you. He's your
comfort and your peace. He's your strength and joy. He understands you...
Even if you feel like He's mad at you, He isn't. He wants you to know He's
waiting right beside you, for you to get up and dust your knees. He's offering
you a tender, warm embrace.
He has come to minister greater strength to you, and in His right hand, He's
got a crown. He's holding a crown just for you, as if to say, "Thank you for all
you've done so far." But this is not the end... There's more.
Say this:
"The Lord is my Shepherd; I am continually led by the Lord."
"I am set on a course that I must follow; I am steadfast."
"The Lord is with me: right ahead, right beside me... Right in front of me; He is
in me, working excellence and perfection in me. Glory to God."
A Prayer For You:
May you be found of the Lord in your desolation. May He shine His face upon
you, and may He cause you to light up your world continuously. Amen.
