CHAPTER TWENTY: THE POWER IN THE GRACE OF OUR LORD JESUS
V.1-3
John 3:16 TLV
"[16] For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
V.4
To perish is to deteriorate, to decline, and to spiral downward. It is a state of
ruin and retrogression.
From bad to worse. V.5 This is the program of the world's economy. Every day,
things get worse. Terrible. Grotesque. Disastrous.
V.6-7. But those who take advantage of the grace do not perish: they have
everlasting life. And what are the characteristics of life?
V.8-10. Movement, respiration, nutrition, irritability, growth, excretion,
reproduction, death.
V.11.
Movement - we move upward and forward only.
V. 12.
Respiration - we breathe the breath of life, and everything we breathe upon
comes alive. Every word from the breath of our lips comes to fruition.
V.13.
Nutrition: we feed on the word of God, for an ever-increasing life of glory
and radiance.
V.14.
Irritability: we respond to the stimulus of God's word, which, like fire, burns
in our bones. This stirs us up to do mighty things in our world, through the
faith we have received and nurtured.
V.15.
Growth: We grow from faith to faith. From strength to strength and from
grace to grace.
V.16.
Excretion: we purge out every thought that is inconsistent with our life and
nature. We reject every condemnation, and ungodly circumstance. We
disapprove evil reports, and denounce every hidden work of
unrighteousness seeking expression through us.
V.17-20.
Death: we die to the world. We die to fear, discouragement, and failure,
because Christ is our life; He reigns and rules through us.
V.21.
Because He lives, we shall live, beyond the cosmos, above the elements of this
world.
We shall be where He is as He promised.
V.22.
So we take advantage of this life—this eternal life, and we bask strongly in the
spirit of might and dominion. No matter the circumstances, we are more than
conquerors. V.23. Regardless of evil reports, we press. In the face of uncertainty,
we do not waver.
Christ is our rock. We are unshakeable, indisputable, indispensable, infallible,
incorruptible, unlimited, undistracted, unhindered, unbothered.
V.24.
We are set on a course that we must follow, as we get greater and greater at
the passing of each second; intrusion of each moment.
This is what Christ came for, lived for, and died for.
V.25-29.
Beloved, before this innumerable company of angels, I put it to you: "You
cannot perish, you cannot deteriorate, you cannot be discombobulated, nor
destroyed. Because Christ was slain to ensure you do not perish, but have
eternal life."
V.30.
Taking Advantage of the Grace of the Lord Jesus
How do we take advantage of grace?
V.31
Philemon 1:6 KJV
"[6] that the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the
acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus."
V.32. To acknowledge is to recognize, ponder on, and utilize.
V.33-35. In my book titled 'THE UNSEARCHABLE RICHES OF CHRIST'
I profoundly elucidated the inheritance we have received in our fusion with
Christ.
Hallelujah...
V.36
The power in the grace of our Lord Jesus is the power to live, reign, rule,
dictate, and conquer.
