CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR: DIVINE FAVOR

 V.1-3.

Romans 9:10-13, 15 (KJV)

"[10] And not only this; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, even by

our  father Isaac; [11] (for the children being not yet born, neither having done

any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not

of works, but of him that calleth;) [12] it was said unto her, The elder shall

serve  the younger. [13] As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I

 hated.

[15] For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I

will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

V.4-6.

In my book "WHEN HE FINDS YOU," I wrote about the requirements of

 candidacy for God's imminent favor.

V.7.

In brevity, I disclosed the major requisite is the posture of a man's heart and

 the constituents.

V.8-15.

In the opening Scripture, God gave a verdict before the twins were delivered

into the world, so it was certainly not based on the condition of their hearts

 that they were judged.

V.16.

God works in mysterious ways.

V.17-19.

Esther found favour in the eyes of the King. V.20. It wasn't because she was

beautiful, it wasn't because her uncle v.21. Mordecai had connections, it wasn't

 her sensuality or her wit.

V.22-26.

For a man to find favour with men, he must first find favour with God.

Genesis 32:22-28 KJV

"[22] And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two

womenservants, and his eleven sons, and passed over the ford Jabbok. [23]

And he took them, and sent them over the brook, and sent over that he had.

[24] And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the

 breaking of the day.

[25] And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the

hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he

 wrestled with him.

[26] And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let

thee go, except thou bless me. [27] And he said unto him, What is thy name?

And he said, Jacob. [28] And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob,

but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast

 prevailed."

V.27.

Three ways God favours people.

1. By Mercy

2. By association

3. For divine purpose

1. By Mercy:

God has so much compassion. He is moved by tears, anguish, and suffering.

God often lifts up the rejected stone and makes that stone the marvel of

 nations.

He raises beggars from the dunghill and sets them amongst princes.

David was the youngest child who was believed to have no purpose on the

battlefield, hence he was sent off to the bushes to care for sheep. But God

picked him up when he had no use for Saul who the whole nation adored.

Jacob was scared of his brother Esau, so God uplifted him and caused him to

 find favor.

V.28.

2. By association:

Genesis 12:3 KJV

"[3] and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and

in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed."

God can favour a nation because of a man. God gave Egypt plenty of grain to

confirm the word He had revealed through Joseph.

God also blessed Laban on account of Jacob, and Lot on account of Abraham.

V.29.

3. For divine purpose:

The Lord Jesus Christ had the fullness of God's Spirit because of his divine

 purpose.

Esther found Favour not to decorate the king's palace and constantly please

him, but to deliver the Hebrew nation from death.

The circumstances that ousted the previous Queen were minute. It wasn't the

King's decision to send her away... He loved her dearly and regretted it but he

did so to preserve his word. That was the finger of God. And so Esther found

Favour with the Eunuch, and with the King.

V.30

God's divine Favor can also be obtained through faith.

The Bible v.31. tells us: "Let no man glory in men; for all things are yours!"

V.32.

Persuade Yourself

"All things are mine."

"I am highly favoured by God and favoured by men."

"I implore divine Favor in all aspects of my life."

V.33-35.

A Prayer For You:

Be clothed with the garment of divine favour in the name of the Lord Jesus

 Christ. Amen.

God increase you,

V.36.

Shalom.
